Therapy for Teens & their Families

Being a teenager can feel confusing, isolating and overwhelming. On top of managing your high school classes, you are navigating friendship stressors, family dynamics and big questions about the future. Today’s adolescents face even more stress than previous generations- with the constant access to social media and the news, it can all take a toll on mental health.

Trauma and stress can also show up in many different forms. Maybe you’ve experienced bullying, sports injuries, or feeling misunderstood or unsupported in your community. For some teens, living with ADHD or learning differences can make school especially challenging and lead to feelings of shame, frustration, or self-doubt.

Having a safe, nonjudgmental person to talk to can make a huge difference. Therapy offers a trusted person to support you in learning about who you are, your identity and your authentic values. I can support teens and their families in improving communication and helping them feel seen, heard and valued. Along the way, I help teens how to access coping tools and practical skills to reach when experiencing heavy emotions.
