About
Mission
My mission is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and the complex emotional impact of chronic health challenges. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can reconnect with their inner resilience, regain a sense of control, and cultivate balance in both mind and body. Through evidence-based approaches and deep empathy, I am committed to helping individuals and caregivers find healing, relief, and a renewed sense of well-being.

Method
By addressing the mind-body connection, I can support you in regulating your nervous system and restoring peace and balance. I incorporate evidence-based techniques such as mindfulness, parts work, CBT and DBT, and tailor treatment to your unique needs. I can support you in building coping tools, increasing self-compassion and finding purpose in life. Our therapy sessions will tailored to your individual needs, promoting growth and restoration of the natural peace and harmony that already lives within you.

Credentials
Certifications: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)- in progress
Clinical Research at UCSF
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the clinical research field at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), one of the most highly renowned research institutions in the country. I coordinated and led studies on mindfulness, stress, and insomnia treatments. This helped me gather an even greater appreciation for of the science behind the mind-body connection. See my full paper published here in The Journal of American Medicine (JAMA).

Master's Degree
I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco, specializing in marriage and family therapy. My graduate school training was done at Mission High School in San Francisco, working with at-risk youth from low income backgrounds. My clients represented many ethnic identities and most were part of the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, as a Spanish speaker, I spent much time providing culturally- and trauma-informed care with recent migrants from Central America.

Experience
I have a wide background of experience working with diverse individuals and families. Before starting my own practice, I worked in an intensive outpatient (IOP) unit with those suffering from severe mental illness (from bipolar, to PTSD to substance use disorders). There, I facilitated DBT and CBT skills groups, administered intakes, and conducted individual & family therapy. I currently also dedicate part of my time to Greenlight Clinic, a nonprofit that provides free therapy for youth.
