ADHD & Neurodivergence

ADHD is often very misunderstood. Although it can certainly look like hyperactivity, forgetfulness, and difficulties concentrating, there are deeper impacts on the nervous system and emotion regulation. Many ADHDers and neurodivergent folks come to therapy with deep-rooted sense of shame and feeling like they "aren't good enough," no matter how much effort they are putting in.

ADHD & Neurodivergence can show up in the therapy space in many different ways. Maybe you’ve experienced bullying, academic struggles, or feeling misunderstood or unsupported in your family and/or friend group. For some teens, living with ADHD or learning differences can make school especially challenging and lead to feelings of shame, frustration, or self-doubt.

Having a safe, nonjudgmental person to talk to can make a huge difference. Therapy offers a trusted person to support you in learning about how your brain works, your identity and your authentic values. I can support individuals and their families in improving social and communication skills and helping them feel seen, heard and valued. Along the way, I help you learn how to access coping tools and emotion regulation skills to reach when experiencing overwhelmed or dysregulated.
