Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a serious condition that can significantly impact one's quality of life. For those seeking psychotherapy for PTSD, I am a skilled professional who specializes in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely used therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. By challenging and reframing these thoughts, individuals can learn new coping mechanisms and improve their overall well-being. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), on the other hand, is a form of therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. It focuses on teaching simple, easy to learn actions that can be taken when someone is under severe distress. Some of my favorite tools include: deep breathing, cold exposure, exercise, and radical acceptance. This approach can be particularly effective for individuals struggling with emotional regulation (suicidal thoughts, self harm and intense outbursts) and interpersonal relationships, common challenges for those with PTSD and complex PTSD.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a short term, 12 week long evidence-based therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating PTSD. This approach helps individuals understand and change the impact of traumatic events on their beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. By addressing these core beliefs, individuals can experience significant relief from PTSD symptoms.

My trauma-informed care and expertise in these therapeutic approaches set me apart as a psychotherapist. I bring a warm, nonjudgmental approach and focus on bringing out the inner wisdom of each person create a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth. With my experience in the field, clients can trust in my ability to guide them on their journey towards healing from PTSD. If you are seeking therapy for PTSD, depression, anxiety or chronic illness and resonate with this approach, it may be worth reaching out to see how I can support you on your path to healing and recovery.
